IRCOSS (INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH CENTER ON SUSTAINABLE SYSTEMS)

The International Research Center on Sustainable Systems (IRCOSS) is an initiative of the Széchenyi István University to promote the development, implementation and application of sustainable systems across a wide spectrum of disciplines. The ambition is to create a world-leading research center through an international group of prominent as well as young researchers by providing them the necessary facilities and services. In this respect, IRCOSS plans to bring together engineers, natural and social scientists, and others from different parts of the world.

The mission of IRCOSS is to tackle the current challenges that planet Earth is facing related to energy, water, food, health, and environment through study of sustainable systems. The aim is to achieve selected sustainable development goals; to disseminate the research results in education and industrial problem solutions; to generate data, patents and reports that can influence the decision-makers and many more. Current and future grand challenges will be selected as topics for the research programs of IRCOSS. For example, circular economy, decarbonization, sustainable architecture to generate data, patents, and reports that can influence the decision-makers and many more.
